My Story

2013 Appalachian Brumby Mare, 13.1h Cashew arrived at the Center after being gathered off an Eastern Kentucky strip mine, classifying her as an “Appalachian Brumby.” She was feral, pregnant, and very skeptical of humans. She gave birth to a healthy colt in the spring of 2022. Cashew has been saddled and bridled, and is ready to be started under saddle. She is sure-footed, a natural at going over obstacles, and shows a jumping potential. Cashew is sound and will be physically capable of going in any direction.
