Pony Gelding / Bay / 24 yrs / 13 h Thank you Petfinder Foundation for awarding us a 2023 Senior Pet Adoption Grant to help Casey find his forever home! Thanks to this grant Casey will be availably for adoption to an approved home with: ~A Waived Adoption Fee ~Will come with a full Flysheet (including fly mask and leg wraps) ~a two month supply of hay pellets!!! Casey really is the sweetest kids pony you will ever meet and we can't think of a more deserving Senior Pony then him to find his forever home this year! Not only will be he a great companion for your other horses he will also be the perfect pony for the kids or grandkids to learn to be around and pony ride safely! Casey is the sweetest kids pony for light riding! He is a senior pony that is still sound and comfortable and very safe for leadline or a beginner off the lead. He steers and stops well and may even be interested in a little trot work for the young rider that is ready for it! Health and Care: Casey is sound and comfortable in his daily life and for riding! He has tested positive for cushings, so he needs to be managed on a dry lot with low carb feed and with daily prascend. As a senior, he has poor grinding surface left on his teeth and requires soaked feed for the majority of his calories. Unfortunately in the summer he has a real sensitivity to bugs, but is doing well on allergy medication and with full fly cover and a fan during the day. Suitable For: Casey would make a wonderful light riding pony for children under 80 lbs. He is quiet and safe for both small kids on a lead line as well as more experienced kids ready to do things on their own. He is quiet and easy going and not concerned about much of anything. He also gets along well with mares or geldings. Enjoys: Casey loves a good scratch or grooming, having a job that makes him feel needed, and friends to mutual groom with.
