Charlie Doberman Pinscher Mix Tehachapi, CA

Charlie is a tall, handsome Doberman probably born in 2006. He is red, cropped and docked, with one lazy ear. Charlie appears to have been raised with a heavy hand. He does not have a shy temperament, but he is mistrustful and he will choose not to engage with you unless you can lure him with treats. He lives with a very social female dog and he does play with her, however, he has a short fuse and can become aggressive if overly excited. He does stop short of injuring his kennel-mate. He has never shown any aggression to humans and he is easy to handle though strong. Charlie needs a home with a person that has a structured environment and can firmly, calmly and kindly enforce rules. Charlie is also very athletic and needs a 6 foot fence and strong gates. It’s not that he wants to escape so much as he want to join in the activity “over there.” Charlie is crate-trained although he will eat his bedding. He will bark when excited or frustrated. Charlie will need regular, formal exercise to be at his best. He's a diamond in the rough that just needs the right home to bring out his best.
