My Story

Hello, my name is Zoe! I am about a year old and have already been through a lot. Here’s my story: I was on my own, trying to find a family when I found the perfect one. The kids were kind, fun, so were the grown ups. They taught me about these crazy things they called “chickens” and that dogs are not supposed to bother them (I did pick up one or two but set them down when they told me to - I never hurt them). I liked that family! Recently, I accidentally got out the front door, met a big dog that likes to do naughty things. I followed him because I thought we were going to play a game… he started chasing these funny looking “dogs” (goats) and hurt one. I followed his lead trying to catch up with him and saw some people. I like people! Well… turns out they owned the funny looking dog. I got in trouble and was told that I wasn’t welcome in this county anymore. I didn’t understand what was happening. My family was very sad, then I was left with a nice lady, at a clinic. There I made friends with a couple dogs (a big one and a little one). These nice people said they are going to help me find new people to love in a new county. At least I don’t have to do it on my own again. I love to go for walks, even just short, strolls. I don’t pull on the leash at all! I have a fish stuffy that I love to play with, and like to spend my time with people. I know my manners (sit to get my leash, lay on a mat, stay, don’t put my feet on people). I haven’t been on many car rides so they make me nervous, but I could learn to enjoy them with some adventures with people. I would love for my search to be a short one. PS. The county I can’t go back to is Benton County in Washington State. Increasingly, we are doing FOSTER TO ADOPT options! That’s where you and puppers make sure you’re a good fit for one another before signing on “the dotted line”….. it’s a win-win for everyone! Just ask your adoption counselor about how this works. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Interested in adopting this or another POPP dog?
