Zipp is the best foster dog her foster mom has ever hosted - and she has hosted dozens of dogs over the years. Zip is just so grateful to be treated nicely. She adores humans of all ages and sizes and gets along well with all the four legged creatures, too. She's living happily with other dogs, cats and even a small herd of horses!
Zipp lived most of her life outdoors in Arkansas. It's not the greatest thing for a dog to live year after year on a chain in someone's yard. So sad! And sometimes scary in tornado weather...
Her people were unwilling to allow her into the foyer, even during storms so ultimately Zipp landed at our partner shelter. The volunteers there took her in, even though she has two strikes against her: black dogs and older dogs aren't the easiest canines to place. But Zipp was so sweet and so grateful to FINALLY have a roof over her head, that we agreed to take her into foster care in New England.
Zipp follows her foster mom around like a devoted little shadow. She is house trained.
Zipp has good leash manners and she rides quietly in the car. She's not much of a barker. She loves snoozing in the house, close to the people and looks forward to lots of naps by the fireplace this winter. She's really hoping her luck has changed for the better, and she just wants to spend her golden years as an indoor dog, preferably with a person or people who are around a lot.
She's eager to make up for lost time! Please don't pass Zipp by!
