My Story
ZIGMUND IS BEING FOSTERED IN HOUSTON, TX. OUT-OF-STATE TRANSPORTATION CAN BE ARRANGED
********************************************************************************************************
ZIGMUND aka Ziggy is an extinguished gentleman! We believe he is about 9-10 years old and 45 lbs. We recently did a DNA test and Ziggy is 42% Dalmatian, 28% Labrador, and the rest Supermutt! Ziggy has many wonderful qualities, including being calm and gentle natured, not jumping on people, sleeping soundly through the night, house-trained, walking well on a leash, getting along with dogs, cats, kids, and more!
Ziggy found himself on the euthanasia list at a Houston, Texas shelter. Like many strays, Zigmund had a slew of very treatable medical conditions, none of which should have been a death sentence. Red Collar Rescue intervened on his behalf, giving him a second chance at life. Ziggy, has spent the last few months resolving some medical issues (small growths on his eyelids that needed surgical removal, eye infection, severe double ear infections, etc.) His thickened ears and loss of most of his hearing due to previous untreated infections, are the only remaining signs of his life as a stray.
Ziggy has adjusted wonderfully to the sweet life, and is now ready for his forever home. Ziggy is sweet, calm, and quiet. He loves his foster family, breakfast, treats, snoozing on a soft bed, more treats, taking walks, and dinner.
Zigmund may be the right dog for you IF:
* You are looking for a calm, quiet, loving companion who likes affection but won't smother you·
* You don’t want pets on the furniture (he can’t jump that high)·
* You have a terrible voice but still enjoy singing and don’t want to be voice shamed (he's almost deaf!)·
* You’re looking for a walking partner·
* You love sleeping through the night without having to let the dog out·
* You do or don’t have cats, dogs, or kids (Ziggy’s foster home has cats, dogs, and kids. He has done well with all of them but, is mainly indifferent)
Zigmund really is the perfect gentleman!
