My Story

Hi I'm Ziggy! They say I'm a gorgeous blue brindle Terrier/Bulldog mix. No one knows my exact mix, but whatever it is, it made me beautiful! I'm about 3 years old and 55 lbs. My parents went through something called a divorce. I don't know what that means, but somehow it meant neither of them could keep me and I had to go to a foster home. Thankfully, my parents kept up with my vet care prior to surrendering me, so I'm up to date on vaccines and I'm heartworm negative, and already spayed! I love all humans- every adult and child I meet is my best friend! I really just wants to cuddle and spend time with someone. Affection is all I need to be happy. I've worked really hard on my training; I know sit, stay, down, come, paw, and I won't jump on you if you don't want me to! I am also kennel and house trained! I love my kennel more than any dog my foster mama has met and I can usually be found snuggling in there with a toy! I am easily entertained with ANY toy. I'll take whatever you give me, I am so appreciative for everything I have. I also like to chase balls, but I prefer not to bring them back. I guess I'm not a retriever. While I love my human friends, I would like to be the only animal in my home. I was not socialized at all as a baby and came from a very hectic, stressful household. I am really good at passing other pups on leash nicely, but I just prefer not to be around them for too long. It's okay though, I don't need other dog friends to be happy, in fact, I think I'm better off without them. My foster mom says I've been a joy to have and loves spending time with me, but I'm just going to be around for a lot longer her other fosters because of I want to be an only dog, but I know I'm worth it if someone gives me a chance. If you're searching for a precious little chunk, with a slight under bite and a huge heart, I'm your girl! PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2021 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $300 Dogs over 12 months - $200 For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
