Zeus

Meet Zeus! A strapping young male about 5 years old and looking to be rehomed. Through no fault of his own, Zeus needs to find a new bed to nap in. He is believed to be half GSP, and his nose supports that hunch! He loves car rides, being outdoors, treats, chew toys (he loves to play tug of war) and cuddles! 90 lbs on your lap is a lot, but thats where he’d like to be. He’s not a fan of cats, other dogs and deer. He will do best in a home where he’s the only game in town. He needs some formal training, or someone who is savvy in training basic commands. When not off a leash he will run off and isn’t reliable with his recall. Best to keep him fenced in or leashed. He walks nicely though when he isn’t distracted! He has been exercised in a 6ft pen and doesn’t challenge the fence and has not tried to jump over it. It’s possible he may do fine with other dogs, but he gets overly excited so the current owners never moved beyond that. He’s a smart gentleman, he knows when to you tell him “sit” “give me paw” and when you tell him to “go in the crate” he’ll put himself away. And, even with those long legs and that furry nose, he is NOT a counter surfer and minds his manners when food is around. Zeus is a young 5, and has a visit with his vet at the end of this week to get up to date on all vaccines. He is neutered. Most importantly Zeus needs regular exercise and room to move around. His current family has temporarily downsized and he’s just not happy in a small cramped space. He is a super sweet boy who needs some space to stretch those long legs and some grass to shove his nose in. Rescue will play matchmaker and connect you with the current owner, this will be a direct adoption and we’ll put you in touch with his family to determine if things will be a good fit.
