ADOPTED 7-30-10, thank you Pat of Hayden, ID! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~UPDATE 7-20-10, WHAT a sweet dog! Somebody taught this dog manners, and housebroke him, and socialized him with other dogs. He is SO well mannered and sweet. He does have separation anxiety, as do most of these dogs who've had a "rough" life of bouncing around. Most dogs, but esp. Dobies, need a stable, secure home with calm, assertive leaders. He is a dog that responds extremely well to kindness and falls over him self to please you. ******************************************************************************************************************In 7-12-10. Got a call yesterday from a local kill shelter. Zebu was slated for euthanasia and they wondered if I had room to Rescue him... I don't, but I did anyway! He is a 1 1/2yr old purebred red Dobie. He has a docked tail (probably a home job, as there is a terrible scar at the end of it) and natural ears. He is emaciated. He moved to the N. Idaho area with an owner, from the S. Idaho area. Said owner bailed him out the first two times he ended up in the slammer, but this last time he signed him over stating "no money/time". Poor Zebu. Anyone that knows this breed knows how crushed this poor dog was to be left behind in a scary kill shelter with no hope of a decent future. He hadn't been neutered, that's schedule for tomorrow (7-14-10) and doesn't look like he's been fed in weeks. He was ravenous when I got him home and ate four smallish meals last night alone. He is really good with all the other dogs here, not too dominate or aggressive for being intact. But he did get a little "too" interested in the kitties outside, so no cats please! He's a typical "baby", wants to be in your lap, see where you are, and be "touching" you all the time. He will be crate trained for nightime sleeping and seems to have a really great temperment.
