My Story

Zack is a sweet, goofy, 2-year old Coonhound who has so much personality and is a constant source of entertainment. While at the shelter, volunteers and staff noted that he was nervous and shy, but as soon as Zack left the shelter and went to a foster home, he transformed into a different dog. This guy is full of puppy energy and loves to play. He might be a little unsure at first when meeting new humans, but given a few minutes to warm up, he will relax into his happy wiggly self and will be ready to climb on your lap and give you kisses. Zack also LOVES other dogs and will light up whenever he sees a canine friend. He loves playing outside, going for walks (he's excellent on a leash!), and splashing in a kiddie pool. It's so fun to watch him gallop around in the yard without a care in the world! Once he has had ample play time, he will be happy to cuddle up and snooze on the couch next to you, or entertain himself with toys. While in foster, Zack has been aclimated to a crate and has done great being left in it when his foster mom needs to leave the house. Because he is still learning inside manners, potential adopters should plan to crate Zack when he is left alone. He has also done great with potty training, and does not have accidents inside as long as he is let out regularly. When he needs to go out, he will go sit by the door and stare at you with the most absurdly cute pouty face you can imagine. Zack is almost always happy and wiggly, but when he does pout, he looks exactly like Eeyore because of his long hound dog ears! Zack's ideal home would have another playful dog or dogs to help him burn off some energy, and a fenced yard for him to run around in. He would make an excellent hiking buddy, and will benefit from regular exercise and mental stimulation to help curb some of his precocious puppy tendencies. Once you look into his eyes and see his happy wiggles, you won't be able to resist making him part of your family!
