Yoko Wilson SCAS

Yoko is around 1 1/2 years old, weighs 34 lbs, is current on her vaccines, spayed, and microchipped too. She gets along with other dogs, big and small, male and female. In fact, Yoko will only be adopted to a home where there is at least one other playful dog to help her adjust. She is also great with people of all ages and is housetrained! Yoko is the definition of resilience. Nineteen chained dogs died of starvation or were shot to death, but Yoko got free of her chain and somehow escaped that nightmare back in January of 2024. She was picked up by animal control and her abusive owner was arrested - he is still sitting in jail, waiting for a court date. Yoko sat for months at the shelter, waiting for the cruelty case to go to court. She was very underweight when rescued, but she has gained at least 6 pounds in these past months. Yoko was finally released by the authorities and she has arrived at 11th Hour and is in a foster home being a carefree dog after all this time (see her video). Despite her history, she is a sweet girl and looks forward to having a family to love her. Are you the family to help her take that next step towards her happy ending? Yoko learned some leash skills (and is doing quite well) at the shelter but will need more training. She is a bit of an escape artist so her furever family should provide consistent supervision, but it was only by escaping that she survived her tragic history in the first place.
