My Story

Please note donations using the SPONSOR ME tab will not go to Fluffy Dog Rescue. Our portal, Petfinder, has a section on the right side that says, "Considering this pet for adoption?" Please do not submit that, as we do not have the volunteer staff to answer these. Our website is very complete, and if you read it will answer any questions that you have. To Locate Our Application go to http://rescue.fluffydog.net/how-to-adopt.html MY AGE: approx. 12 years WEIGHT: approx. 17.6 lbs MY STORY: Yogi's neighbor rescued him when his owner was evicted. He had received years of poor care and she had always been concerned about him. As you can see in the photos, he was severely matted. He feels much better now after being groomed and having his nails trimmed. The neighbor was unsure of his exact age, but our vets will estimate it at his upcoming appointment. He is a happy, friendly boy that just wants to be loved and taken care of. Update from Yogi's foster: Yogi is an older dog, the victim of neglect. There is a “before” picture of him, taken before his long, dirty, matted, coat was shaved off. Clearly, his master did not take care of him. He has been neutered and had a dental. He had molars removed, not incisors or canines, so he still has a pretty smile. He is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving home. Yogi has been with me for a few days and I’ll tell you what I know about him. ?Yogi is a sweet, affectionate, 16 lb. little dog. He is a people pleaser, and affectionate. He was quiet in a crate on the ride to my house. He eats well and sleeps well in a dog bed next to my bed. He has had only 2 accidents here, so I consider him well on his way to housebroken. Yogi is a senior dog with a lot of torque left in his engine. He walks well on a leash, comes to me when called, and sits on command. Yogi has experienced many changes recently. He is nervous about new routines. With time and patience he will become a confident little dog. 7/22 Yogi has made steady progress the past 2 weeks he has been with me. I can tell you he is reliably housebroken. He walks well on a leash and is capable of mile long walks. He does well also in the fenced in yard and enjoys hanging out on the deck with us. Yogi greets guests appropriately at the front door and gets along well with the resident dog. He does fine with baths. Yogi is learning to play with plush, squeaky toys. Yogi loves pets and scratches and the company of his people. He likes to hop on the couch to watch TV with us. Yogi is given free rein in the house when we are gone. He has been non-destructive. We try to maintain a daily routine with Yogi. After 12 yeas of neglect, he needs someone he can count on to boost his self-confidence. Yogi would do well in a home where someone can spend time with him, maybe someone who works from home. He has not been with small children and is un-tested with cats. Yogi is sweet dog looking for a new start with a kind, patient adopter. Fostered in Madison. ADOPTION FEE: $550 To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION. Adopters must be 24 years of age. We can not adopt to families with children under the age of six. We also only adopt in WI, IL, and parts of MN. Most of our dogs are strays, so the breed is our best guess. WI License #270548. Check out Fluffy Dog Wellness on our Home Page. Great Solutions to Enhance Your Pet's Health. www.fluffydog.net
