My Story

Meet Yaya! This charming girl has us all wondering how she’s still available because she’s ready to bring joy to her forever home. Believed to be around 9.5-10 months old, Yaya is the perfect medium-sized pup, weighing in at 37 lbs and likely to stay under 45 lbs. While we can’t confirm her breed without a DNA test, her adorable looks suggest she’s a Schnauzer mix. Yaya’s past is a bit of a mystery. She was found as a stray wandering the streets of Texas and is now patiently waiting in a shelter for her forever family. Despite her limited exposure to the outside world, Yaya shows immense potential. With the right mix of love, stability, and training, she’s sure to blossom into an amazing companion. Yaya is all about that puppy life, bursting with playful energy and curiosity. She needs a patient and dedicated owner who can guide her through basic obedience training, socialization, and potty training. Though she hasn’t been formally tested around cats, she’ll likely adapt well if introduced at a young age. With minimal interaction with children so far, Yaya should do well with kids who understand the playful nature of puppies. While she no longer has her razor-sharp puppy teeth, she’s still very much into chewing and teething. Slow and monitored interactions with kids are advised. She’s incredibly dog-friendly and would thrive with another canine buddy to play and learn from. Yaya is a typical puppy, full of energy and mischief, requiring positive engagement and consistent training. Her ideal home would provide plenty of activity and mental stimulation. With her young age, she’ll need someone to check in on her during the day for potty breaks and playtime. We prefer she isn’t left alone all day and that there are arrangements in place to ensure she’s set up for success. A yard would be fantastic, and a fenced one is a bonus, though not required. Given her size, we’re open to considering apartments on a case-by-case basis. While breed experience isn’t necessary, researching Schnauzers is recommended since they can be high-energy and need lots of stimulation. Transitioning from a shelter to a home environment will be a big change for Yaya. Patience and understanding are key as she adjusts to life as a cherished family member. The shelter is at full capacity, and Yaya urgently needs to find a home to avoid the risk of euthanasia. Requirements: - Must have access to a yard or park - Breed experience is preferred but not required Yaya is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, on monthly prevention, heartworm negative, and ready to find her forever home! Important Notes: All dogs are located in Texas and will be transported ONLY after adoption, with transportation costs included in the adoption fee. While we make educated guesses about the breed based on their features and characteristics, we cannot guarantee the specific breed mix. We encourage adopters to focus on a dog’s personality, behavior, and compatibility with their lifestyle rather than breed labels.
