Xena

Xena was born about December 13, 2023 and will likely top out in the 50-55 lb. range. She surely appears to be a Shepherd mix, but mixed with what we can't say - perhaps some Retriever or Terrier. She was picked up by an officer after dark on a busy road in Olean just wandering around all by herself and efforts to locate an owner were not successful. She seems to have been treated well in her puppy hood and immediately became the dog control officer's favorite. She has done well in the car and on outings to various events and visiting Petsmarts. She adores the other dogs and would like a dog friend in her next home or she may be ok in a home with a lot of human activity. We like to give our dogs fruits and veggies as snacks and she LOVES to munch on raw broccoli! She is openly friendly to all humans she has met and likes to be close by. Xena does fine on leash and is a quick learner. Someone reading this is going to be very happy that Xena was picked up safe and sound and brought here to Joyful Rescues to find her forever family. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $_500.00__. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
