My Story

Our buddy, Woody, has had a bit of bad luck finding his 'forever home'. Initially, he came into our local Shelter and immediately won the hearts and became the Beloved Shelter Mascot. They found him a home, but due to the owners health issues, Woodie was returned to the shelter. He became the Shelter Dog again, and he found another home later in the year. This time the owners felt he was too active for their sedentary life style as as a result he didn't get much exercise and gained 32 pounds, so back he went! He was placed in the FOCCAS adoption program and into a foster home. Now, we need to find Woodie an active household that will exercise him and help him lose the weight! He has perfect manners and will sit, stay, lie down, speak and go to his bed. He has some separation issues and will follow you around the house and whine somewhat. He's always eager for you to come home, waiting patiently. We suggest his best match for a new owner would be someone who's home most of the time or take him to work. He needs a corn free diet due to skin allergies and needs regular brushing as he does shed. Woodie need a family that will love and appreciate his generous gentle personality making him a loyal companion. His foster home also has 6 other dogs a tiny Pug to a big hound mix. They also have 5 cats. Woody gets along with everything. The neighborhood kids love to come and visit all the animals at the fence. The fence is only 3 foot high, none of the big dogs have figured out how to jump it, but they may not want to leave their home either. His adoption fee is $100. It includes his neuter, da2pp, bordetella and rabies vaccines. Deworming and flea treated. Microchipped with lifetime registration, Coos County dog license, doggy goodie bag, leash and collar and a free Coos County vet visit.
