My Story

A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $250.00 will be applied during the contract process He is a beautiful Shepherd boy from Kansas who is completely housebroken! He loves playing fetch and is motivated by toys instead of food. He would chase toys and balls all day long if you let him. For this reason, we will need a foster with a fenced in yard so he can get that energy out. He would prefer to be in a house with no dogs, cats or kids under 16 (they make him extremely nervous). He has lived successfully with other dogs but seems happier to be the only dog. He is a very strong puller so we will also need someone who can handle him during walks and help him with his walking manners. We know that he is a tall ask, but we promise that he is the best, cutest boy who will give you lots of love and laughs! From his foster: Smart, Loyal, Active and sometime stubborn. Woodstock is a dog that came already very well house trained and understanding of basic commands. He crate trained for sleeping at night very easily although he still deals with some separation anxiety. He loves to go on long walks or have a yard to get his energy out! He will be working with the TBB trainer on his reactivity, but with the help of his medical team we have been working on this. He seems to be most triggered by dogs that seem high energy and or are a little too interested or reactive back at him. He has been able to be redirected with some encouragement and praise. He is much more responsive to praise and toys than treats. Overall his anxiety can be heightened with anything new or unexpected in his environment. Slow intros with people or smaller dogs would be key. Once he knows you are respectful of him and his space he will come greet you and be fast friends. Might even take a treat and give you a shake if its a really good one! For anyone looking to meet him it might take a little bit of getting used to, but once he knows you are his person, he is more than excited to play and get lots of love and scratches! He is worth all the little bits of extra effort! From the Vet: Hi! I'm Woodstock and a few weeks ago I had an emergency seizure episode. My type of seizure was mostly local to a tremor in my head, but then one night I had multiple in a row, some of which caused me to go unconscious, which can be dangerous. I started on an anti seizure medication to help and things are going well so far! They call it idiopathic epliepsy or seizures without a known cause. I will likely be in the new meds life long unless otherwise recommended by a veterinarian.
