3/15/10: Winston is available for adoption again. He has started grumbling at the toddler in his home. Although he isn't doing this all the time, it's enough to make his new family a little uncomfortable so he will now need to go to a home with no children or with older children, 8+ years. He was also left with free run of the house and started chewing on things so he will need to be crated when his family is gone. Other than that, he's still a big sweetie!!
Hi everyone! My name is Winston. I'm a 3 1/2 year old blue merle dane. Apparenly I had a run in with a wild critter and had to be quarantined to make sure I didn't have rabies. When my quarantine was up, my family never came back to get me. I was so sad, just waiting on them. Then my rescue friends found me and I'm certainly not a sad boy anymore!! While in quarantine I got really sick with the doggie flu so I have been recovering from that and haven't been able to be neutered yet. I don't remember much about my previous life but my new foster family says that I must have been kept outside or had to lay on something hard as I've got some pressure sores on my body and bald spots on my tail. Thank GOODNESS I'm not outside right now since it's so cold!! My foster family said another sign that I was kept outside is that I've got these things called heartworms. They don't hurt me but sure sound scary!! My rescue friends are going to make me all better and get rid of the yucky creatures.
My favorite thing to do is jump around from couch to couch playing "catch me if you can" with my foster family. I also like to lean and if you don't give me attention I may use my paw to let you know that I need it. I loooove to snuggle and I always have to be touching my people. I can make myself REALLY tiny if I have to just so I can be close to you. I like other dogs and kitties and, so far, I've been good with kids. I'm house trained and leash trained. I like to bounce like a rabbit when I get excited. Oh, and I snore :) My foster dad says he thinks I look like a grumpy grandpa but my personality is the complete opposite. He says it's like I have 3 1/2 years of pent up love and can't get it out fast enough! Don't you need some Winston lovin??
