My Story
**FOSTERED IN DOTHAN AL** **FENCE REQUIRED**
Introducing Willow, a 3.5 yr old petite fawnequin Dane!
Timid in nature at first, Willow previously lived with a single female owner who was all she ever knew, so transitioning to a large foster family with lots of people and other animals was a big change for her. After proper decompression time, she's doing splendidly now.
Willow is currently living with a family with three teenage aged girls. Timid in nature at first, once she gets to know and trust you she is a very happy, playful, and obedient girl. Her humans are her people. She loves to walk up and rest her head on her humans’ shoulder, it’s how she shows affection.
Willow has a little separation anxiety which includes whining/crying in her crate, but is not destructive. She would do best with a calm homebody, not with anyone gone long hours every day or with frequent stranger traffic in and out.
Young kids can be too unpredictable for her, they make her nervous. She would do best in a home free of children 12 or less, if any at all.
She currently lives in a home with a male Dane, female Dane, and a red Heeler. Willow can be very awkward around other dogs and will require a lengthy introduction process. She’s way more focused on humans. She’s not one to play much or interact with the other dogs. After a few weeks of integration she’s definitely settled in with the male dane and female heeler, but she and the other female dane both compete for queen diva of the household.. Blending her with a multi-dog family will take time, patience, and experience. But give her the space and time she needs to decompress and figure out her new routine, and she will come around eventually. We promise. It just takes patience.
She also shared her yard with chickens, goats, donkeys and sheep and has ignored them.
Willow is a true Velcro Dane. She is a very sweet and affectionate girl. Willow is obedient to basic commands such as sit, lay, and stay. She is crate-trained and potty-trained.
She currently sleeps in the bed with her humans and is very content all night. Willow is the cleanest water drinker and makes zero mess, which is an unusual Dane characteristic.
Willow’s current hobbies are snuggling on the couch, playing with her stuffed animal, and roped toys. She doesn’t counter surf nor does she chew.
Willow is looking for her forever home, will you be her person?
Willow has been spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $350. To read over the adoption requirements before applying please go to www.nwflgdr.com/adopt.
