We'd like to introduce you to Willow, a charming and dignified 4-year-old lady who came to Almost Home nearly two months ago ... and promptly gave birth to six equally adorable puppies! She's been a wonderful mother to them, but now she's looking forward to having her little ones leave the nest, so she can embark on her next adventure -- finding a family of her own to love.
Here's what Willow's foster "mom" says about her: "Willow would be PERFECT for an older couple! She's quiet, calm, walks like a dream on a leash, and LOVES her walks -- I take her for a stroll at least three times a day. She’ll let me know when she wants to go – she walks to the gate, then turns and gives me 'THE LOOK!'
"When she had surgery for a torn mammary gland, she would see me coming with the ice pack or medicine, and immediately lie down on the floor and lift her leg for me to hold it on there or apply the medicine. Willow is simply awesome -- she's more of a serious dog rather than playful, as you can tell from her wise and thoughtful expression. She's good with the cat, too, and listens to everything I say to her ... we need someone very special for her!".
Willow currently weighs about 40 lbs., and could use a few more to get her to an ideal weight of 45 lbs. She will be spayed and available for adoption after she's done nursing her pups (about mid-June), so please
e-mail us to find out if Willow is the right pet for you!
