WILLA

MEET WILLA This sweet girl is an exceptional sweetie. After a rural farmer called her rescuer saying, "...there's a dog in the woods in back of the house, she's been there for a couple weeks, but I can't catch her...come get her if you want..." off the rescuer went to find Willa. She went into the woods and when Willa saw someone had come to help she showed no apprehension and only a look of gratitude and relief. She allowed herself to be picked up and placed in the car with her puppies. She was exhausted. She knew she was safe. Our rescuer found Willa in the shadows of the woods, starving, without hair on her tiny body, enduring harsh, bitter cold nights but with 5 healthy babies! How she managed survival with winter conditions amazes us.

Willa is in a loving foster home learning what it means to be a cherished companion. (Following foster mom and dad around the house, playing inside and out with doggie pals, cozy-ing up as a couch textile, asking for an extra treat or two, she has adjusted wonderfully.) She is a small statured girl and is 12 pounds. We believe she is about one year of age. Breed-wise, we aren't certain, but we see the "best mixed breed girl there could be!" (Does that count as a breed??) Wills loves people and doggie pals. She is inquisitive and friendly and cannot get enough of the cookie jar! (Remember, she came into rescue starving and she absolutely loves accepting treats from all of her favorite people! Willa is ready to be someone's love hound and little explorer. She's wowed us from the beginning.
