Momma Wiley was stuck at a shelter in Southern California with 3 new puppies when the shelter declared their time was up. She had to be rescued that day, or all of them, including the puppies, were going to be euthanized. With the help of a foster we got them all out, but poor Wiley was really freaked out for several days and needed to trust that her new people were not going to hurt her or her puppies. It became clear after a few days that as much as Wiley was terrified of new people, she also really wanted to connect with them. Her foster parents persisted with their daily efforts to spend time around her, and eventually she crawled into their laps. It has been a magical transition.
Wiley's puppies are 9 weeks old now, and ready to go. So is Wiley. She is a beautiful girl, and will continue to blossom in a new home.
