We take the time to post pertinent information about our dogs and that information can be found below. Our dogs are fostered in homes so we know them well. If it appears you would be interested in one of our dogs and you fit the requirements for that dog, please go to our website - www.enchantmutts.org and complete an application. The application form is found under Adoptable Dogs - Adoption Process at www.enchantmutts.org. When the application is complete - you can submit it to
[email protected]. We will contact you when the application has been reviewed. Thank you. WICK will NOT be adopted out of the state of New Mexico.
Meet WICK (John to his friends) – this boy… well, this boy is something else! He has overcome so much and even in the darkest hour – has a personality that keeps on giving. When WICK came to rescue – he weighed 9 pounds, was covered in scabs and bite marks and you could count the vertebra in his backbone. Such a sorry state, but when we met him – he gave us a smile and we knew we would give him all we could. He didn’t let the things that happened to him interfere with who HE is and is quite frankly – he is the most optimistic dog we know.
WICK is a purebred mini aussie – American Miniature Shepherd (AMS). People would refer to him as a toy size – there is no such thing in the aussie world (AKC recognized) – they are either AMS or Australian shepherds and there are lots of size ranges for both. WICK is small – coming in (now) at a whopping 16 lbs (he loves his food!). He is a black tri and we gave him a birthday of 2/17/21.
WICK truly is locked and loaded just like his name sake – John Wick; he is all that and then some. Funny, active, cuddly and smarter than Einstein – this boy just keeps on giving. He is so easy to train – always up for whatever is thrown his way and he is ready when you are for anything… hikes, play time, protecting his family and home. WICK is one smart cookie and needs a home that will help him continue to learn things as he does love to learn! He always gives 110% and rewards you with an unending supply of butt wiggles and nose boops.
While WICK does have some great energy – he also enjoys his cuddles and down time and quite simply – is happy, friendly (when he gets over his shyness) and rather a dork – he has a great sense of humor. He is small but mighty. He checks in regularly with his foster (loyal boyo) and if you hold up a blanket – or leave one on top of a dog bed, he will do his very best to crawl under it, snoot around a bit and take a nap.
WICK loves to play and wrestle with all the foster dogs (of all sizes) in the house and he needs to have a playful canine companion in his forever home. His BFF is GILLY who is also available for adoption – they have quite the “thing” going on. He has discovered the joy of toys and is happy to share them with his fellow orphans and often times, hides them away in his blankies. Unless his family wants to play 24/7 – he needs a buddy.
WICK is house trained with a doggy door and crate trained. He actually likes his crate – a safe zone for him and while not always necessary, it is a good thing, unless you want to leave the house and come home and think you have been robbed (he is still figuring out what are toys and what are not) but that is to be expected from a dog that now gets to finally have a puppyhood.
What we would like for WICK –
Retired family or someone(s) who works from home
No kids under 12
Active family – daily walks, hikes, play time, etc.
Family that is willing to put in some time and training
Another playful canine companion in the house
Family with experience with working dogs
Family that likes to laugh and who just GETS IT when they have a VERY special canine family member.
WICK is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention, wormed, micro chipped and neutered. He is house trained with a doggy door and is smarter than his foster and she knows it.
His foster is nothing short of obsessed with WICK and adores everything about him and admits being head over heels in love - so if you can arm wrestle his foster, and win, our adoption process is on our website - www.enchantmutts.org – let us know why WICK just might be for you.
Sorry - WICK WILL NOT be adopted out of the state of New Mexico.
