Walker

COURTESY POSTING: Hellooooooo... I'm Walker! I ain't nothin' but a hound dog with a mellow personality who's lookin' for a comfy spot to lounge! I somehow ended up at an animal shelter in Waveland, Mississippi - one of the areas Katrina hit the hardest. At the time, I had an almost completely severed ear and I just sat in my kennel untreated until rescuers found me. My injury was repaired with some fancy surgery including skin grafts - it's healed now but the scar reminds me how lucky I am that I made it. I was successfully treated for heartworm and neutered too, so I'm a "vet vet" (a veterinarian veteran) and now, I'm as good as new!

I weigh about 70 lbs and I'm as easy going as they come. The only thing that gets me real excited is food! I'll let you know when it's feedin' time - I love to sing for my supper! I'm a total "couch tater" who's a sucker for belly rubs. I need some manners training because I jump up a little (especially when I smell food) but I'm very gentle. I'm totally house trained. I like to stroll outside too but I'm pretty low-energy. I would like to hang my hat (my ears?) at a home that has a fence but doesn't have kitty cats. I'm staying with my foster mom who just loves me to death but her other pup doesn't like me so much. She thinks it's just not fair that I don't have a place to call my own. I've been stayin' with her for a while so if you think maybe you'd like to kick back with me, give her a call and she'll tell you all about me.
