Duckie, as we call him now, is a large, mini longhaired chocolate with some lighter brown highlights. He is a few pounds overweight because he got a bit bored being outside at his last home and would dig out when left in the yard to go visit the local Dairy Queen where they fed him treats.
He is not a dog to be left in the yard because he prefers people, laps and lots of brushings. He hasn't tried to leave our yard yet and loves any attention. He won't dig out if you do not ignore him.
Duckie has done nothing wrong here. He is sweet, kind, happy and hasn't tried to escape at all. He was a very cherished pet at one point and loves everyone. And he is housebroke mostly with a few reminders. We kennel him at night just in case and he is doing well there in that department.
He is also a hunter we are told. He loves to chase our cats so he can not be placed in a home with other small animals. He also needs his senior naps so small children are not the best either in his sunset years.
Duckie runs and zooms with our kids all day and has a grand time. He is losing weight and looking much better in the chubby department. If they had not of told me his age I would of guessed he was no more than six.
He was used as a stud dog and will still need to be neutered with your adoption fee. (He has an apointment soon to be fixed.) And he was just wormed and given his shots, but will need boosters when you take him home. His teeth will need some attention soon too. We will be happy to consider a discount on his adoption fee to the right home who will love and cherish this very sweet old dog.
Need a sweet and active lap dog? He's your boy. He adores the brushings and comes with several brushes to keep his coat glossy and shiny.
We took him to an adoption event this last weekend and he did very well with all the kids and people hugging for several hours.
To start the adoption process, please fill out our form on our web site at: www.nonprofitnw.org/drnw and see the Adopt a Dog/Fee page with more details on how we adopt our dogs. There are a lot of questions answered on our site.
Please indicate which dog you are interested in on the form. You can also view our adoption contract there as well.
There is an adoption fee of $100 (negotiable) for this dog. No phone calls or emails please because we adopt from our waiting list form. Thanks.
We always have several dogs needing homes not listed here yet so please see our web site for more details on how we adopt our dogs.
