Someone left Violet out in a mesa and my parents found her scared, skinny from not eating and very sickly looking.. She had given up on life and just couldn't keep going.. We believe she may be around 9 years old but may be older.. We will be getting her in to our vet as soon as possible to determine her age and any health issues..
She seemed deaf, blind, and a little crippled so we just gave her a bath as she smelled like a skunkm, fed her, and gave her some time to adjust.. After a couple days however we decided to do our own little exam on her to see what we could figure out.. We cut her hair and realized she was skin and bones, then we checked her ears and found they were filled with hair and yucky brown wax gunk-- so we cleaned them out, and now that she has been with us about a week it looks as though she is gaining weight and getting stronger..
She can now stand and walk on her own and can hear us when we call her and she can see where she is going.. She is doing good but after looking at her teeth we do know she definitely has to get in to our vet for a full exam and dental.. So she will be available for adoption after her teeth are clean and our vet gives her a clean bill of health..
