Venus von Vellmar is a stunning 2 year old long haired German Shepherd. She is so pretty that the goddess herself would approve of her namesake! Although our Venus doesn’t wear blue jeans, as the song would have her, she is nonetheless a feast for the eyes and a delight for the heart. She looks forward to her outings, yet is calm and keeps a heel position on leash. Moreover, her doggie social-skills enable her to smoothly glide through interactions during outings and group walks. Her looks haven’t made her haughty in the least: she is super-sweet, loves to greet any person walking by her and to bury her head in your arms. Your hands can provide the affection she needs by petting her all over. This smart girl has a medium energy level, enjoys following you around, knows her “Sit” and “Down” commands, is treat-motivated and takes treats gently. Venus does great in playgroups. She goes in with a comfortable and calm attitude, exploring the yard and being a good greeter. Beyond mannerly salutations, however, the dogs don’t hold her attention - her focus shifts back to her people, whose affection she craves.
