My Story
Venus is rising!
Say hello to Venus, or Vee, Veenie, and good girl! Venus is a seven year old red female. She’s simply a peach. Gentle, attentive, and quiet yet playful and exuberant when the situation allows. Venus would do best with a committed owner who is able to commit to having her as an activity and adventure partner while providing a structured environment.
Venus is crate trained, and perfectly comfortable in an X-pen, although she will expect a treat when she is told to kennel up. She is house trained, with zero accidents while in foster care. She knows how to turn off her energy and do nothing, but is also ready to run around the yard and play with you, or just sit by your side in quiet company.
Vee loves affection, and this girl will snuggle under a blanket with you on the couch when it’s time for a good movie, or curl up next to you for the night. Venus has been great with the foster’s cat, showing interest but nothing beyond a gentle sniff or two. She has also been great with the other dogs. She’s shy at first, but within a day or two will warm up and begin playing like she’s known them her whole life.
Venus is not comfortable around small children, so best to crate or leave her at home if social occasions arise where little ones will be around. Venus rides quietly in the car, so don’t forget she’s in there when you get to where you’re going! She’s leash trained and knows basic obedience, and is being trained a little more every day. She knows come (call name), heel, sit, down, kennel, and more. She’s a smart girl, and this slightly older dog easily learns new tricks.
