The Vena Cava is necessary for your heart's survival, and once you meet our girl Vena you won't want to live without her!! Vena is a gentle giant weighing in at 73 lbs. She's a beautiful lady, very affectionate, gentle with treats, and we can't resist a smile so dazzling! Vena is available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. Gentle giant for sure. She had a nice meet with Slim Jim- he approached her very quickly and too forward but she handled it well, she got out of his space and sat down to show that she wasn't comfortable. She knows sit, very gentle taking treats! very genlty overall too. Took pets all over Per Volunteer 7/27/24: sweetheart who loves cuddles Per Staff 7/27/24:10+ due to sensitivity around ears, they're injured and she's very sweet but a child may hurt her unintentionally Per Staff 7/27/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Stray KENNEL PRESENTATION: Vena came right to the door when she saw me approach her kennel. She had soft eyes and a fast wagging tail. She was patient for leashing and came right out once secured. LEASH SKILLS: Doesn't pull often but when she does she's pretty strong. HANDLING: Vena was all wiggles when we got to the room. She sniffed me and said hi with a wagging tail and wiggling butt before sniffing around the room and exploring. She came up when called and allowed some all over pets before pushing her butt into me and showing me that she wanted booty scratches. After ome pets she picked up some squeaky toys and ran around the room with them! She brought a toy up to me and solicited some play. She let me take the toy from her mouth, but also wanted to play tug. She traded for treats easily and was gentle taking them! Vena showed me that she knows "sit, "paw, and "down, a lady of many talents! She allowed all handling, but was understandably sensitive around her injured ears. She would shake her head, flinch, and move away whenever I got near them or lightly touched them, but they were swollen and irritated so that's understandable. She never escalated and would just move her head away from my hand. Overall, she's a super sweet and friendly girl! PLAY: Engages in play TOYS: Likes stuffed toys and squeaky toys, will let you grab them in her mouth and will trade for treats! ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
