Female | Terrier mix breed - Costa Rican | Small - 19lbs | 1 year old | Neutered/Spayed, UTD on shots Rescued from Costa Rica Currently being fostered in Toronto, ON Personality: Vela is a delightful blend of energy and calmness, always ready to be by your side or offering cozy cuddles on the couch. This bubbly pup cherishes her plushie toys, perfectly content to play independently when you're occupied. Initially shy around new faces, both dogs and humans alike, but with proper introductions she soon embraces the warmth of attention, blossoming into a sociable and affectionate girl. Ideal Home: Vela is a very easy going and adaptable girl who would thrive in most homes. While she would benefit from a yard, she would do equally well in a condo setting with access to greenspace and multiple walks. She would thrive with someone who works from home or can be home with her often as she shows some separation anxiety when left alone. She has not met any children yet but would likely do best with older, kid savvy kids as she has a tendency to jump up when excited. Vela craves attention and loves to be close to her people so a home that is willing to include her in all their activities would be her dream! Training/Activity: Vela is house trained, food motivated, and currently mastering crate training, showing a strong preference to stay close to her humans. She's grasping commands like "sit" and "down," with "stay" and "come" being works in progress due to her desire to be close to her humans. While she hasn't interacted with dogs indoors due to health precautions, she's expected to adapt well with proper slow introductions. She doesn’t require a yard and is currently benefiting from 2 short walks and a few additional potty breaks a day. She is new to being walked on the leash and will require on-going training as she gets the hang of it. She loves her plushie and tug toys and the treat ball gives her Summary: Vela is a friendly and affectionate pup who thrives on companionship. She's house trained and shows promise in crate training, though she prefers to be close to her humans. Vela is food motivated, which aids in her training. Vela's ideal home would have someone present most of the time, as she's happiest and most content when alongside her human and is looking for someone to give her all the attention and safety she craves.
