Valantine

Valantine arrived at Soul Dog Rescue on Valentine's Day, along with her 8 newborn puppies. She immediately went into a quiet, experienced foster home to raise her babies. She was extremely thin on arrival, and has not missed a meal since! Val is friendly and social and good with kids and other dogs - she has not lived directly with cats. She is still learning about how to live with humans, and needs an experienced owner to continue building her confidence. Although she looks like a golden retriever, Val likely has some other breeds mixed in - like Chow-Chow and Husky. Val was adopted into a very busy household in April with small children and returned to Soul Dog Rescue in July for some fearful behavior. She is now back in the same foster home, who is committed to helping make her a better match this time and is working with a fantastic trainer (who is willing to also work with her adopter). Val will do best in a quiet, adult home without a lot of people coming and going and where she has a safe and quiet space to herself when needed. She is expected to thrive with an adopter who is able to stick to a behavior plan and continue positively exposing her to the world.
