My Story

Twyla is a beautiful, two-year old liver and white Brittany with lots of energy. She adores people, loves leashed walks, belly rubs, playing with toys, playing fetch with sticks, naps, mealtime snacks. She has started learning manners and knows commands like here, stay, sit, spin, and kennel. She has been okay with cats (who are dog savvy and don't run) and does fine if left alone at home for several hours. Twyla does NOT enjoy dog parks, being approached by strange dogs (fearful, but not aggressive), having her feet touched, being in a car, or sharing her home with another dog. Indeed, Twyla will thrive in a home where she is the only dog and her human/humans are her best friends. She is current on her vaccinations, HW negative, spayed, housebroken, and crate-trained. Twyla will need a home with a good-sized yard with a secure 6-foot physical fence so she can run and play safely. As a Brittany, Twyla will need an active adopter who can provide the daily exercise she needs. She would do well with a regular walker or runner. Her new owner will be expected to continue working with her on leash work and manners. The adoption fee for Twyla $400.00 which helps to offset our vetting and allow NBRAN to rescue more of these wonderful family members. If you are interested in making Twyla a member of your family, please visit www.nbran.org and complete the on-line adoption application form under the Adopt tab. Once the application has been reviewed, you will be contacted by your state coordinator. A phone interview, home visit, and vet check will be required as part of the approval process. Please realize that all our dogs are placed in the most appropriate home for their individual needs. We do not operate on a first-come, first-serve basis. Twyla is eligible to be transported through our canine railroad up to 1400 miles from western MT with the adopter being responsible for at least the last 100 miles.
