My Story
Introducing Uno!
Uno is a lively 2.5-year-old, 15 pound Boston terrier who is an absolute ball of energy. She thrives on playing with toys and other dogs, exploring and sniffing around the house, and cherishes the company of her humans while also valuing her independence. Her spirited nature and adoration for companionship make her a charming addition to any household.
Her incredible abilities include being a quick learner (she mastered the wee pad on day one), adoring everyone she meets, and effortlessly getting along with other dogs. Though she is still hesitant about walking in the city and loud noises, she absolutely loves frolicking in the backyard! As for house training, Uno uses wee pads due to her nervousness about going outside, but we are confident that with time and patience, she will overcome this. She loves to please and basks in being rewarded for a job well done.
Among her beloved pastimes are playing with her toys, exploring every nook and cranny, and engaging with other dogs.
If you seek a small dog with a larger-than-life personality, one who greets you with unbridled joy every time you walk through the door, craves attention, and is also self-reliant, she may just be your ideal companion.
Uno is currently in foster care in Staten Island, NY. Her adoption fee is $600.
Uno is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
