My Story

KID TESTED MOTHER APPROVED!! Tug is a 3 yr old handsome, sable male pekingese who was an owner surrender. He is looking for a new forever home. Tug is a sweet quiet little boy who is keeping to himself when he is around the other foster dogs. He would make a great lap dog or a nice companion for some lucky person. If are interested in Tug, please fill out the application below or call Debbie at 740-610-8729 after 3 pm weekdays or anytime week ends. Tug is neutered, has all his shots, and wormed. He was transported to MD from OH. His adoption fee is $250.00 UPDATE: When I was told that Tug was coming into my rescue, they said he was a Pug, but when I went to pick him up, I told the people that he wasn't a Pug but a Pekingese. They couldn't believe it! So, that is why he is named Tug. This little guy is quite entertaining with his happy little smile and his goofy ways. Tug is a sweet little guy who gets along with everyone and every dog and cats, too. Please consider him for your family as he will make someone a nice pet. Adopting a dog that has been moved from a home to a shelter and then to a rescue is not for everyone. It takes time and patience to make that dog feel at home in his new environment. It takes at least 1 week and usually up to a month for a dog to acclimate to your schedule and home. An animal shelter is the most stressful place for a dog to be, with other dogs barking and not knowing what is happening around them. Some dogs come to their new home scared and timid. They will sometimes take several days before they start eating and have anything to do with the new adopters.

It's not easy rescuing a dog. It takes patience and time and LOVE. These dogs need love and understanding, not another rejection.
