Tucker

My name is Tucker and I'm approximately 4 years old. I have been living in my foster home since October, 2004. I came from out of state with my family but when we moved to GA, they decided they didn't want me anymore and dropped me off at a local shelter. I was so scared because I knew my time was very limited and I had very little chance of making it out alive. Well, I was lucky enough to win the heart of the shelter manager and she called a lady and asked if she would take me. One day not long after I was there, a lady came up to my run to say hi and she had a leash in her hand to take me home! I was so happy I jumped all over the place. She noticed I was having accidents in my crate and took me to the vet. It turns out I have what they call marginal kidney function, which means my kidneys do not concentrate my urine. It's really no big deal because all I need is special food and a doggie door to make sure I can get outside when I have to "go". We don't have a doggie door here but when my foster mom isn't home, she leaves the door open for me so I can just walk outside to go to the bathroom. I'm very very good about not going in the house so that's not a problem. My foster mom is sad because no one is interested in adopting me even though I'm an absolutely fantastic BIG boy. I sleep in my foster mom's room at night, I get along great with all my foster brothers and sisters, and those pain in the butt cats and I love to play with toys. I also love it when I get to play chase with my foster mom. She tells me she's gonna get me and then comes after me and I run away so she can't catch me, but eventually I do let her get me so she thinks she won. We have so much fun. And as you can see from my pictures, I have an old blankie I absolutely love!!! It was actually a bathrobe my mom never wore so she gave it to me to lie on but instead, I throw it in the air and love to sleep with my head on it. I've had it for a while and there isn't much of it left, but I still love it. I'm happy to be here because my mom saved my life but what she and I would really love is for me to find a wonderful forever home of my own so a family will love and spoil me and keep me forever. It would make my foster mom so happy because she loves me so much and thinks I deserve better than to be one of many, instead of maybe one of two or three. She's had people come to the house to meet some of my foster brothers and sisters and she always makes sure I get my chance, but as much as people think I'm a great dog, I'm always passed over for another. It makes me sad but my foster mom always tells me not to worry, that my forever home is out there.. it's just a matter of time.
