They were purchased as puppies and lived their first three years as pampered housedogs. When the family had a baby, the dogs became outside dogs.
Now, the family is relocating and choose not to take the dogs with them. These sweet, funny, friendly siblings will have to be taken to the animal shelter when the family leaves at the end of January. Because of their age, they will undoubtedly have a nearly impossible chance of finding a home from the animal shelter.
TRIXIE & NORTON had complete senior health screenings this month at their veterinarian. Both were declared healthy geriatric dogs. They have had extremely thorough veterinary care their entire lives and it shows!
They were born on Dec. 1, 2001. TRIXIE was spayed and NORTON was neutered as puppies. TRIXIE now weighs 61 pounds and NORTON weighs 80 pounds. Both are microchipped. Veterinary records will be provided to their new family.
They can adapt to an indoor or outdoor home but would undoubtedly love to have more indoor time with their folks. They love children and deserve a loving home where they can live out the last several years of their lives. They have a ton of love to give in return!
If you can help TRIXIE and/or NORTON, please contact the Humane Society of Calloway County as soon as possible. The first step in the adoption process is to complete an adoption application which is located on the adoption page of our website at www.forthepets.org. We ARE Rescue Friendly also, and welcome inquiries from reputable rescues who might be able to offer placement for these dogs.
Dog Adoption Guidelines:
You must fill out an application to be considered for adoption. You can fill out an application at www.forthepets.org/adoption.htm or email to [email protected] for an application.
It is not a "first come" process; we try to "match" the dog with the family for a FOREVER home.
We adopt out-of-state, but we do not transport to individuals but will transport to reputable rescues.
