My Story

March 9th, 2008. Status: ADOPTED!

Trigger was adopted to a family that has a female JR about 7 yrs old. It appears that the two dogs are not getting along and Trigger is yet looking for anther home. We feel it best that Trigger be placed in a home that does not have another dog. Trigger is a little go-getter and needs discipline and direction as to what the rules are. He is a typical JRT and if you love this breed you will love Trigger.

Shortly after we rescued Trigs we discovered Trigger was very hard of hearing. In order to have Trigs off-leash remote training may be necessary for recall.

This is Trigger, a male Jack Russell approx 4 years old. Trigger has tons of personality as do most JRs. If you have never had the pleasure and challenge of owning a JR please do your research as these guys have a personality and temperament all their own. A big dog in a small body as we say.

Trigger will need training and time to learn his house manners. He appears to get along well with most other dogs however, we are not sure about cats at this time. Poor Trigger was picked up as a stray and to much surprise was never claimed. If you are interested in Trigger please email us for an application at [email protected]

Is this the dog for you? These feisty little Terriers capture the hearts of many, BUT they are not the dog for everyone! While adaptable to a variety of environments, they are first and foremost bred to be hunting dogs. City or apartment living, or a confined or sedate lifestyle, do not suit a Jack Russell. Special facilities and handling are absolutely necessary, especially when owning two or more Jack Russell's.

You must be ready to provide firm, consistent and responsible handling. And, while facilitating outdoor activity and exercise is essential, you can never leave your Jack Russell Terrier unattended, even in the country. The courage of the Jack Russell is never in doubt, they may take on any adversary, even twice (or more) their size. They are intelligent, determined and bold, but sometimes you have to apply the brakes they were born without.
