Tonto

Tonto is approximately 1 - 1 1/2 years old in these pictures taken August 29, 2009. He was given the name Tonto because the people who found him says that he is the PERFECT companion like Tonto was to the Lone Ranger. He will follow you anywhere and so enjoys being close. Tonto was found running some rural roads. The people tried to find his family but no one claimed the boy. The foster family just can't say enough about how GREAT a dog Tonto is. Smart, loving, funny, and gentle are words also used to describe this special boy. AND he is housebroken too. So he is really "perfect." They wish they could keep him but are not in a position to do so. Tonto plays with the children and doesn't do anything to the 2 year old who sometimes attacks/plays rough with him. He gets along well with other dogs. He is affectionate and smart. Tonto really enjoys running around the yard, going for walks and does well on a leash. He doesn't mind riding in a car either but did get a little car sick on his way to LP. Tonto was curious about the cat, who was in a wire cage, we tested him with and seemed like he wanted to play. He didn't show any aggression towards the cat. Tonto went into the vet on August 29 and was tested for Heartworms/Lyme/Ehrlichia. He did test positive for Ehrlichia but has been treated. Tonto weighed 39 pounds.
