Tom

Tom is a five year old intact male English Setter, his vac's are up to date, He is registered and microchipped. For people who know English Setters, he is called a Llewellin Setter, after the founder, he is a retrieving dog at an island hunt camp, Last year Tom got shot, they took him to the vet and he is physically recovered, but naturally he is too afraid to do any more retrieving, so they were going to shoot him this week - He is very friendly and although he lives in a kennel we think he is house trained, because he has stayed in a cabin with people at times. however he is coming into our care on wed july 21st and we will know more then and post a pic asap, if you are interested in adopting him complete an adoption application off the adoptin page of www.adoptapet.lucknow.on.ca, $150 adoption fee applies, will be neutered, dewormed and treated for parasite prevention pre adoption and have a collar with an i.d. tag on it, friday july 23rd- Tom seems very friendly and gentle. In the kennel he wags his tail really hard when anyone goes near him, so he has worn the hair off the end and it bleeds a little if he whacks it on something. He was clipped not long ago, they keep the working dogs' coats short on the island. He was just vaccinated in early June, with everything including lepto and bordatella. It turns out he is 6. He is trained to heel, and when running loose he runs in wide circles around you and on one whistle he looks to see which way you want him to go, and on three whistles he comes back to you. (Bob can't remember what two whistles does.) One of his eyes has limited vision from the shooting. He still has a lot of buckshot in him, but the vet said it shouldn't bother him.
