My Story

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Tofu, 18 month old, neutered male chihuahua, 13lbs. Tofu is in a foster home in Austin, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Tofu is not your typical spicy chihuahua - he's sweet and affectionate, and is a great companion who loves to give you kisses and make you feel the weight of his love. His favorite spot is nearby you but most especially in your bed under the blankets. <3 He's fairly laid back and low energy - he appreciates regular walks to keep his boyish figure and racing around the house and backyard with his stepbrother - but really enjoys curling up on the couch and loafing away the day. Tofu is confident enough on his own to not require a canine sibling but we do think he'd appreciate the company, whether canine, feline or of the human variety. He's been exposed to kids and cats in his foster home and done well. In general, we always recommend a home with kids who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. Tofu is house trained and trusted loose in the house, even when unsupervised. He's not been crate trained but in his new furever home, would strongly recommend he be crated until he's had the chance to acclimate to his new environment. Tofu's foster describes him as easy to please, fun loving, gentle and low maintenance. He's adaptable and will fit in anywhere allowed, especially if there are lots of people to fawn over him....he's never met a stranger and is a real "people" person. :) ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt him?
