My Story

Todd is a large husky who came to us as a stray, so his history is unknown. We estimate his age is around two years old and he certainly display's that happy and goofy side that most young dogs have. The staff love his enthusiastic personality and often have what we call "Todd Time" in the staff room, cuddling up on the couch, giving him belly rubs, tug of war and more. He didn't arrive at the shelter with perfect manners, but he's been working hard to be the best boy he can be. And although he's still a work in progress, we've seen great improvement with his basic obedience, leash walking and dog reactivity. He's also slowly learning proper social skills and has made a few dog walk buddies. He is a bigger boy, weighing slightly over 70lbs and will need a family that is comfortable handling him as he can be quite strong. For the most part, he takes on to new people quite quickly and is happy to come up for pets. However, there has been a select few times where he has become nervous and standoffish to particular people. He likely had a tough life before coming to us and needs some extra socialization to help him become comfortable around all people.
