My Story

Age: 11 years

Weight: 4 lbs

We have one adoption application under review for Tiny.
Tiny Tim will only be available to the Houston or Austin area. Hello, my name is Tiny, but the amount of love I have to give is huge! I've had a really rough go of things over the years, so all I want now is to find a home where I can retire & live a worry-free life. Here's my story: I was the beloved, faithful companion of an older lady for the first 5 years of my life. Unfortunately, my owner fell ill and had to move into her son's home. This was a terrible part of my life, because the son kicked me & tossed me around & was very mean to me. My owner felt so bad for me that she was got me into a rescue group. I was so very scared when I went into my foster home, because I thought all strangers were mean, but that that changed with a lot of love & understanding. I got my confidence & strength back after a few months, and another nice, older lady adopted me. Here's where it get's terrible again... You see, after 3 years with my 2nd owner, she fell ill & had to be hospitalized indefinitely. That lady's daughter & family took me in, but they really didn't want me, and didn't know how to care for me properly. They let me eat cat food, they didn't have time for me, and I was stressed out by all the activity (little kids) in their house. Luckily they contacted the rescue group, and I was reunited with my same foster mommy on Christmas Eve '09. I remembered her instantly & showered her with kisses. Since then, I have been checked over by the vet, and he said I'm in pretty good shape for a senior dude. I have a heart murmur, but I don't require medicine (I may in the future, but it's really inexpensive). I have a luxating patella (weak knee) that makes me a little wobbly, but it does not cause me any pain. I've been eating quality dog food, and it's made a big change in how I look & feel. Recently, I had a dental cleaning and had 5 teeth pulled, which leaves me with just about 7 remaining teeth in my mouth. Please don't feel sorry for me, though, because I feel so much better and can still eat dry kibble just fine. I am a mature senior, and because of my rocky past, I take a while to warm up. Occasionally I have an accident in the house, but only if someone isn't paying attention to my signals (cuz when I gotta go... I gotta go!). I loathe bath time and make a fuss, but I'm so happy once I'm clean that I'lll give you a kiss to thank you for cleaning me. I am not leash trained, so I need a fenced yard to potty in, but I'm very portable in a carrier, stroller or your arms. Once I trust you, I am yours forever. All I want is to sit in your lap & be petted, and I really like older kids that know how to handle me properly. I will snuggle up in a blankie & let them pet me non-stop. What else can I say? Yes, I'm complicated, but I'm also pretty darn adorable and down right charming. Given the right home with an experienced owner, I have so much potential. Are you the one?

Adoption fee is $200.
