My Story

Meet Tinker Bell, 8 months old and guessing Jack Russell mix. Tinker Bell is high energy, always on the go. Guess that’s the Jack Russel in her. She is only 11lbs but thinks she’s 60. She is definitely the alpha dog in this home. She will climb the cat tree, and sit on my night stand. Maybe part cat? She loves to collect all the dog toys in the house and brings them to my bed. That includes the remote and keys, if I leave them laying around. But when she’s not on the go, and ready for sleep time, she will lay next to me or on me and snuggle so sweetly. An absolute love. Such a strong personality in a small package. Tinker Bell is good with cats and other dogs. She will chase a cat to play and she will first bark at a dog to tell them she’s the boss, but then will play with a dog of any size. Fun to see her play wrestle with my 60lb pitttie, and run yard zoomies with my 25lb terrier. Tinker Bells issue is house training. It is a work in progress. When I’m home, I take her out frequently and she will potty if I walk out with her, but still having accidents inside. I’m working on paper training now to see if any better luck while I’m at work and she’s doing better with that. She needs a family that can really work with her on this training. She’s a smart girl and will get it with consistent training. Are you interested in adopting Tinker Bell or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received. Completed applications can be sent via email to [email protected], faxed to 919-300-5524, or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at PetSmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center). We will contact you as soon as possible once we receive your application for Scarlett Mae. Thanks for thinking adoption!
