Tinker

01/22/2010: TINKER HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY HER FOSTER PARENTS! TINKER JUST CAPTURED THEIR HEARTS SO THEY SAID THEY JUST COULDN'T PART WITH HER! Tinker is an adult chihuahua (approx 4-5 years old) who was found wandering on the side of the road during our recent bitter cold snap. A kindly lady picked her up and surrendered her to rescue. After scanning her for a microchip and finding none, and after several unsuccessful attempts to locate her owners, Tinker is now up for adoption and searching for her forever home. Tinker is described as sweet-natured, housebroken and extremely clean. She prefers the company of men but will happily snuggle up to anyone who will have her. She currently is being fostered in a home with other dogs and has had no issues with them but she has not been exposed to cats or young children in her foster home so we do not know how she would be with either. Because we do not know her history, we are going to recommend that she be placed in a home with no small children: cats should be fine. Tinker will need a dental completed by her new owner as we do not have the funds to have that done thru our organization. There is no rush on this but because she is a smaller dog and dental issues(specifically tarter buildup) are common with small dogs, she will need a cleaning eventually.We feel that Tinker would be best suited to a home with adults only-a retired individual or family would be ideal-a nice quiet home would be the perfect match for Tinker. If you are looking for a sweet dog who will be your constant companion, then you may want to consider adopting Tinker. Tinker's adoption fee is $150 and will help us cover vet costs and her basic daily care while in rescue.
