My Story

On April 9, Tink is meeting her potential adoptive family & then she will go on a week long vacation with her foster family. Any email inquiries will be answered when we return on APril 18th. THANK YOU!

Tink (short for Tinkerbell) is named after the Peter Pan fairy because when she thinks it's time to eat, she leaps through the air. Really it's more like Peter Pan but that's not a great name for a girl. For the first two weeks, we thought she was a boy until we finally took a closer look. She's a girl!

If the puppy could talk out loud, this is what she would want you to know: 'Hi! I'm mostly called 'PUPPY' by my new foster family. They are taking care of me & trying to train me to love my crate. I am a big girl so I really don't like to go in there but that's where my food & treats are to be found. Sometimes I fuss about the crate & then, I pass out. Despite how I act, I need a lot of naps. Playing can be tough on a puppy.

I have two foster dog 'Aunties' named Auntie Grace & Auntie Ann. Auntie Grace looks like she could be my Mom but while she is white with black, I am white with black & brindle underneath the black. When we go on walks at the park, people say 'Awwww' when they see me. They think I'm cute as a button. Auntie Gracie will often play with me & let me chew on her ear. I try to do that 24/7. I also want to play the game: Ride the Bullydog. I treat Auntie Gracie like she is a bronco & I am a cowgirl & think it would be great fun if she would let me re-enact a rodeo show. She runs away too fast for me to catch her when I try that game. Auntie Ann doesn't like baby dogs so she is always trying to shoo me off. I've learned to respect her boundaries. We also have cats in our house. I love them but they don't like me. I don't know why but no one in this house really wants to play puppy style. I try to smell the kitty & he arches his back & hisses. I just want to be friends.

I love to put things in my mouth but then, that's what babies do. My favorite thing is a chew toy that my foster Mom says is called a Petite Galileo Nylabone. I also like Kongs filled with tasty treats I can lick. And if my foster mommy isn't paying enough attention, I'll chew on her purse strap or her hair. Anything is tasty if you are a puppy!'

We require an application including a vet reference. Tink would do best in a home with a friendly dog or dogs. She likes to be with the pack. She is neither dominant nor utterly submissive. She seems to fall somewhere in the middle & can be a little sassy at times but nothing over the top. She's a very nice little dog overall & is a charm to be around. Because she is still in that mouthy puppy stage which should last a few more months at least, she would best fit in a home with children over 5 years old. She's learning from her foster family that human skin is very delicate but she forgets from time to time & her little puppy teeth are pretty sharp.
