Teddy B

Teddy B is about 2 years old and is a neutered male of what we think is - Bichon Frise or Poodle and Jack Russell Terrier. Teddy B has not had an easy life thus far and was covered in mats from head to toe. Not only was he neglected but we suspect he was the victim of physical and emotional abuse as well. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was petrified of everyone and in particular - their hands. Staff at the shelter gave Teddy B lots of TLC and soon be began to trust and engage them. He is now in foster care and there is no doubt that he has been mishandled and probably struck. Despite his past abuse, Teddy B is beginning to blossom. Foster mom says he is an extremely loving boy who requires a home with patience, gentle positive ways and dog experience. He has bonded closely with his foster mom and is enjoying the relationship he shares with someone worthy of his affections. He's a fun boy who has athletic abilities and would be an amazing agility dog. Teddy B is house trained, gets on well with other dogs. He does have a chase drive for squirrels and neighbourhood cats. He does not walk well on a leash - yet. Foster mom is working on this area and we have to wonder if he was ever walked in his previous home. If you are interested in dear Teddy B, we are looking for someone very special. A home with a fenced yard, a patient, kind and caring person or family, may or may not have another dog, someone who would perhaps take an interest in agility and have some dog experience to help Teddy B overcome his past fears in life. We suspect he was a cute fluffy white puppy who was either purchased on impulse or given to someone as a gift. Either way, he was treated as if he was unwanted and has been traumatized because of this treatment.
