My Story

This is a courtesy listing for a sweet dog named Teddy. His sad story began when a kind lady named Autumn found him on the side of the road after neighbors in the area saw him get dumped out of a vehicle. She has had him since November 2023, but unfortunately, cannot keep him because she has a small home and already owns three other dogs. Teddy is a larger breed, of course, and her pets do not get along with other dogs. She has had to keep him completely separated from them. Teddy has been staying on her back porch, or when the weather is bad, he is inside in a kennel. Teddy is a Lab/Husky/Pit mix. He is about one and a half years old, male, and about 64 lbs. Autumn has gotten him neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated and is doing her best to try to find him a good home. Teddy loves to go walking, play with his toys, and go on hikes. His favorite treats are jerky sticks and peanut butter. Teddy also loves rolling around in the leaves and playing fetch with his ball! He was initially fearful of other dogs but has improved and seems to have done very well with recent interactions. He may be timid/shy at first but has not barked after some socialization. Teddy does have anxiety at times, but adjusts to the situation within a short period of time. He had some puppy behavioral issues that needed some work (like jumping and pulling) but has improved in the time that Autumn has been working with him. He is a smart dog and knows commands like “sit”, “stay”, “place”, “down” and “leave it”. Teddy is kennel/crate trained as well as housetrained. He gets along well with most larger dogs. All of his vet documentation will be provided to a loving adopter, as well as toys, some food and supplies. There is no adoption fee, but a small donation to offset Autumn's expenses would be appreciated. If interested in giving this sweet boy a forever home, please call Autumn directly at: 828-270-6201 or email: [email protected]
