This is Tater and he is a tot, about 12 months old. He was found stray and now is in his foster home, learning the ropes. He weighs about 10 pounds presently and is as cute as can be, with a very expressive face.
He likes to play with other dogs, although he still is a bit worried about his foster mother's 65 pound dog chasing him in play (he falls over on his back and closes his eyes, probably praying that he will live to play another day)!
Being mostly (or all) terrier, he is tenacious and can be stubborn about leaving things alone that don’t belong to him. We don’t know how he would do with cats, but he might be pesty.
Tater likes everybody, including kids, and is wonderfully sweet. He is learning to walk well on leash and is starting on some basic commands. Tater is not housebroken at this point and needs consistent training in that subject.
Tater’s ideal home would be one with a securely fenced yard for him to run and play, a family that is not gone all day, and owners that are patient and willing and able to continue his training. He likes to entertain by jumping up in the air as if on springs and can get quite a distance off the ground. Where is a red clown nose when you need one?
Tater’s adoption fee is 200 dollars, and covers shots, heartworm and fecal testing (negative), neuter, and microchip. Tater will be placed within 1.5 hours of the north Chicago suburbs, no exceptions. Please call Elaine at 847-703-1416 or e-mail [email protected] for an application.
