There was a bumpy ride, and then another person lifted my kennel and brought me into this bright place. When they opened the door I could see my puppies laying on a nice soft blanket and even though I was very scared I hurried over to check on them. I was not sure where I was but it was warm and the people spoke in nice soothing voices to me and touched me in a way I had never been touched before, it felt good! Over the next two days the nice ladies fed me, talked to me, and petted me. They gave me a couple of needles that hurt a little but they said it would make me feel better so I let them do it without complaining.
Then came another person and another car, but this time I had to walk out on my own! I was very worried about all the sights and sounds but I eventually followed her, she had my puppies, and got into the car. I was taken to a house, and this time I had a whole room to myself! There was nice soft warm place for me and my puppies and food all the time! It was so nice here that I made sure that every time I had to use the bathroom I would wait until they put me outside, it just seemed like the right thing to do! Everyday my puppies and I got stronger and soon I realized I did not have to worry about finding food all the time and instead I would go looking for the nice people that lived in that house. Every time I found them they would smile and stroke me and tell me I was a good dog, I loved it! I started to feel better and better all the time and suddenly had all this extra energy! There were some other dogs living in the house too so I started to play with them. I'm very good at figuring out who is grumpy and who likes to play. I also never worry about food anymore, there is plenty and if someone wants to stick their hand in my food dish I know that they are just putting in more food.
All my puppies are gone now and my foster mom says I am ready to have my very own family! I am so excited! If I could pick the perfect place it would be with people who are wanting a dog to cuddle with them a lot, and maybe even on the couch, and will take me for walks. I love everyone I meet, people are just so nice, and small people are even more wonderful because I can kiss them without having to stand on my hind legs! I would like to live with another friendly dog. My foster mom calls me a "perfect size" because she says I am only about 35lbs, which means I could also be good at agility or flyball one day, but I would be just as happy to play fetch in the back yard. If you think you have the perfect home for me please let me foster mom know, she will be very sad to see me go but she knows that it is time for me to find my forever family. She says I am just too nice a dog not to find a great home.
If you wish to adopt, you must be willing to take an obedience class.
Adoption Application
NEW HOPE DOG RESCUE is not a shelter. Our dogs are placed in loving foster homes. WE NEED FOSTER HOMES TO HELP MORE DOGS - CONTACT US TODAY!!!
Definitions:
Pending - means that we are working through the adoption process with the 1st applicant. We usually don't add the pending until we are pretty sure the adoption will go through (like at the home visit stage)
On Trial or Trial Visit - means that the dog is in their new home for up to 2 weeks before the adopters need to commit to keeping the dog. We want to make sure that everyone is happy with the new living arrangements! We allow this option for everyone except very long distance adoptions (too far to drive).
Adopted - you know!! A happy ending for a homeless dog. We try to let everyone know when we have the final word. Within about 24 hours, the dog's bio will be moved to our happy tails section!
