Tank is a kookie, quirky Lhasa Apso. He vacillates between very cuddly, extremely playful, independent and kinda quarrelsome (so Lhasa) - he’s not a sissy boy. Typical for his breed, he may be willing to bite if pushed - so will not be placed with small children. Gotta say, he’s fun and snuggly more often than not. Tank is a healthy, sturdy guy; he did require cherry eye surgery which has healed. He’s also curious, alert, smart, kennel trained, comical, loyal, not excessively barky, has fairly good house manners, energetic, entertaining, adventurous and treat oriented (which is good for positive training - avoid harsh discipline otherwise you will get some retaliation from him). Altho’ very playful with his foster fur-siblings, occasionally squabbles with them but can be refocused with a few squirts from a water bottle (which he’s not fond of). Due to his occasional scrappy attitude, placement in an adult home or home with dog friendly teens (no children) required; not cat or large dog tested; fenced yard required; another playful doggy strongly advised; definitely requires an active family - walks, hikes and play-time (a tired dog is a better dog). As a hypoallergenic dog, he requires grooming but trimming his face is challenging - he’s not cooperative. All in all, Tank is a lover boy who generally wants to please. His breed traits are not as dominate as some Lhasa Apso’s. Who knows what his early training and life was like - he is who he is now. He will require a confident owner. With lots love, patience and some training, he will become an awesome companion for that right someone. Some fur-babies are so worth the effort - Tank is one of those dogs!
