My Story
Hello everyone, my name is Sylvester, but my friends and foster momma call me Sylv! I am a 1.5 year old Pitbull Terrier mix, and I recently found myself landed in the shelter due to no fault of my own. I am potty trained, house trained, and kennel trained, but I am still a teenage puppy, of course, so sometimes I like to make a game of things, but I always end up doing what I am told. I can help keep you young top, because I love to swim and hike! I am also neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all my vaccines and flea/heartworm prevention. I absolutely LOVE other dogs, so I would fit right in with anyone’s pack:) However, I can play a bit rough sometimes, so I maybe wouldn’t do best with an elderly or very small dog. My foster mom has 2 ducks in her backyard who have their own little fenced off section, and to be honest, I’m so scared of them! Also, those things humans call “vacuum cleaners,” I do NOT like those; what’s up with that scary noise they make? I previously lived in apartment with 4 college girls in my first home, and now I live with 4 more so you can bet I am very well socialized with people always coming in and out. I am a little more on the active side as I am still young, so I would benefit from someone who could take me to dog parks, on walks, or to doggy daycare (my foster mom works at one and I absolutely LOVE it there). Please consider making me a part of your family as I have so much love and attention to give??

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt
**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.
2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
